Jasher is one of the Amar Kabal. He helps Jason and Rachel during the events of the first book and accompanies Jason on his quest during the third book.

Known Background[]

Jasher was known to have served Galloran before he was captured, and he was an exile of the Amar Kabal. He declined all three invitations to Harthenham, which made him wanted by Maldor.

He was sent by Galloran to assist Jason and Rachel in their quest for the Word, and rescued them when Maldor's men attacked them on their journey to see the Pythoness.

Family[]

Jasher has a few relatives mentioned in the series. One is his wife, Farfalee, a son named Lodan, and his brother-in-law, Drake. His brother was also mentioned twice in A World Without Heroes, it said his seed was destroyed by a displacer working for Maldor.

A World Without Heroes[]

Jasher is met almost immediately after Jason and Rachel ditch Ferrin at Whitelake. He becomes a great asset while traveling to the swamp, as his whip and sword deal with the giant frogs, and he is a seedman so he can be the night watcher.

He returns to help Jason escape Harthenham, but Drake does not seem to recognize him when he is killed by Kimp, as Drake only mutters about the resilience of the amar while searching for his seed.

Seeds Of Rebellion[]

Jasher only appears near and at the end of the book when Galloran and a group of Drinlings rescue the group. The group travels to the Southern Jungle in search of the Temple of Mianamon when a group of treefolk shoot them with darts that seemingly covers the body in moss, which was shortly remedied upon being captured. Jasher was also present during the time of the prophecy that would bring Maldor's demise. He was paired up with Jason, Farfalee, Corinne, Nia, Aram, and Drake to complete half of the prophecy.

Chasing The Prophecy[]

Jasher is told to go with Jason's half of the Delegation in search of the last abode of Darian the Seer. He first helps hijack the Valiant, then assists in destroying the Maumet and finding the desired information from the Celestine Library. He gudes them through the Fuming Waste to the entrance of the last abode of Darian the Seer. Unfortunately, he is killed by The Wanderer, but is replanted with an undamaged seed.

Death[]

It is unknown how many deaths Jasher experienced before the series' beginning, but he dies twice in the series. In A World Without Heroes, he explodes when Kimp accidentally strikes the orb of orantium Jasher was carrying, and in Chasing the Prophecy, the Wanderer kills him. Both times, his seed remained undamaged and he was safely replanted.
