Malar

Malar was the guardian of one of the syllables thought to be able to defeat Maldor. He resided in a cave on an island in the middle of Whitelake. Malar is a displacer, and he, along with another displacer called Rex, are the only displacers to have turned against Maldor besides Ferrin. Somewhere in the middle of their quest to defeat him, Malar lost his body, and his head wound up on the island in Whitelake. He was fortunately there with one of his hands, which gave him food and water. When Galloran sent Nedwin out to retrieve the syllable guardians, Nedwin found his lifeless head in a pool of water, suggesting he had been drowned by Maldor's soldiers.
